President Obama Signs Water Infrastructure Bill into Law

According to an article by Pollution Equipment News, President Barack Obama signed the Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA) into law on June 10th, 2014.

The conference report passed in the House on May 20 and the Senate two days later. It includes top priorities like a focus on addressing extreme weather; reforms to the Harbor Maintenance Trust Fund; and a new funding mechanism, the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA), which will assist localities in need of resources for flood control, wastewater, and drinking water infrastructure.
